TAX-INVESTMENT ZONE WORKSHOP SET FOR THURSDAY

  

A request by a local company for a tax-reinvestment zone will be the topic of a special joint workshop meeting, Thursday morning, of the Brenham City Council and Washington County Commissioners.

Del Sol Foods, which produces Brianna’s Salad Dressing, is planning to purchase the adjacent ADS building for its international distribution center.

Del Sol officials say the relocation of distribution will allow for production expansion, adding approximately 10 local jobs.

The city is recommending the staff finalize the reinvestment zone, the Tax Phase-In Agreements for future consideration by the City Council and County Commissioners Court.

Both the City Council and County Commissioners would be expected to vote on the issue at meetings in August.

Thursday morning’s joint workshop is set for 8:30 at the Brenham City Hall Council Chambers on West Vulcan St.
