ONE KILLED IN CRASH ON HIGHWAY 90 IN GRIMES CO.
One person was killed in a collision Thursday afternoon in Grimes County.
According to DPS, the crash happened around 4 p.m. on Highway 90, just north of Anderson. An 18-wheeler headed northbound on the highway stopped to let other traffic pass before turning left. A pickup truck also traveling northbound did not stop and crashed into the tractor-trailer.
The driver of the pickup, 44-year-old Daryl Brooks of Mexia, was taken to CHI St. Joseph’s Hospital in Bryan, where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the 18-wheeler was uninjured, and has not received a citation.
The highway was shut down for over three hours while troopers investigated and cleared the scene.
