POWER RESTORED TO BLUEBONNET HILLS

  

Power has been restored to a large part of the Bluebonnet Hills subdivision between Brenham and Chappell Hill.

Over 100 customers of the Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative were hit with a power outage in the area, west of Chappell Hill.

The power was reported out shortly after 4:00 Monday afternoon afternoon and restored around 6:00 p.m.

Update @ 6:50 a.m.: According to Public Affairs Manager Will Holford, the cause of the outage was a blown arrestor, a device that protects electric equipment from lightning strikes.  Holford said the arrestor was likely damaged or weakened in a recent storm, and failed Monday.
