43-year-old Keith Anton Johnson was arrested July 17th and charged with aggravated theft, a first-degree felony.

According to Harris County Precinct One Constable Alan Rosen, Johnson is accused of stealing from at least six people in the Houston-area, who hired him as a contractor between May 2016 and April 2018.

Authorities said Johnson would start work on projects that went unfinished, and would claim building materials were taken from his job sites when he fell behind schedule.

Rosen said in a news conference Thursday that Johnson “preyed” on victims when they were most vulnerable.

If Johnson is convicted, he will face punishment of five to 99 years in prison, and up to a $10,000 fine.  He has been released on $5,000 bond.
