ROCKY CREEK BRIDGE AT FM 50 CLOSED FOR REPAIRS

TxDOT is currently working on replacing the Rocky Creek Bridge at FM 50.

The project consists of the bridge replacement, along with road improvements along FM 50 starting at Highway 105 and going five miles north.  The bridge was damaged during May 2016’s storms.

According to TxDOT Resident Engineer Mark Shafer, work will include reworking the pavement and widening the shoulder.  The project officially began July 15th.

Shafer said drivers will be detoured throughout this 90-day period.  They should still expect delays after that, as the road will still be under construction.

Shafer said the project is contracted out to Big Creek Construction for $6.5 million.

  1. If you use Old Independence Road to commute. Please don’t use Jeske Road. It is closed due to being a narrow road and is also very dusty. Use Marcus Road instead!!

  2. The bridge has been closed since the 18th somebody in tx dot has a slow communication problem.

    1. Bridge repair on fm.50 jeske rd is also closed to through traffic. Please use 2621 as your detour around instead of going around barricades on FM 50.
