BISD EDUCATION FOUNDATION RECEIVES MULTIPLE DONATIONS FOR TEACHER MINI-GRANTS

  

Several local sponsors have donated over $5,000 towards Brenham ISD’s Education Foundation.

The foundation received $5,500 in donations which will support its Mini-Grant Program, a program created to generate and distribute resources to district teachers.

The program is designed to award revenue throughout the school year to teachers, helping with funding for extra classroom supplies, projects, and activities not within the district’s budget.

Local businesses such as Bank of Brenham, Brenham National Bank, Brazos Valley Schools Credit Union, Citizens State Bank, the Rotary Club of Washington County, and Cindy Wells of UBEO have committed to joining the program through sponsorships.

This is the Foundation’s 15th year of giving out mini-grants throughout the district, with this past year being its most successful, distributing over $53,000.

Mini-grant applications are available in August.  Teachers can request up to $500 for their classroom, or $3,000 for a department or grade level.
