BLUEBONNET ELECTRIC CELEBRATES 80 YEARS AT BRENHAM MEMBER SERVICES CENTER

A good time was had by all at Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative’s 80th Anniversary celebration in Brenham Tuesday.

According to Bluebonnet General Manager Matt Bentke, the clown's appearance was a surprise, but a welcome one.

Steady crowds filed through the doors of the Brenham member services center throughout the afternoon.  Guests were treated to popcorn and sugar cookies, and had the chance to meet and take photos with a fully outfitted Bluebonnet lineman.

There were also roughly a dozen vintage electric appliances on display.  There was even a surprise appearance from a clown.

Don't worry, there were fans blowing inside this light bulb to keep it cool.

Additional birthday events will be held through the next two weeks, with the next one tomorrow (Thursday) afternoon in Giddings, at 3190 East Austin Highway.  That celebration will be from 2 to 5:30 p.m.

Sets of vintage appliances, with a look at how technology has advanced over the years.

Celebrations will also be held next Monday in Lockhart, next Wednesday in Manor, and next Friday in Bastrop.
