COLORADO CO. FIRST IN AREA TO ESTABLISH BURN BAN
With the recent hot and dry weather and a rise in reported grass fires, Colorado County has become the first county in the region this year to issue a burn ban.
The burn ban was enacted Monday by Colorado County Judge Ty Prause. The ban is effective until further notice from county officials.
A burn ban prohibits outdoor burning until the ban is lifted.
At this time, there are no burn bans in place in Washington, Austin, Burleson, Brazos, Grimes, Waller, Lee, or Fayette Counties.
