LOCAL MAN ARRESTED ON MULTIPLE CHARGES

A Brenham man is in custody after his arrest on multiple charges.
Wednesday night, just before 8:00, police were dispatched to Brown St. in reference to a possible burglary of a vehicle in progress.
When they arrived, police say they encountered 34-year old D-Troy Smith of Brenham.
According to police, Smith refused to exit his vehicle and refused to give any identification.
After a brief struggle, Smith was identified and taken into custody. He was found with ecstasy tablets, marijuana and a loaded gun.
Smith is charged with: Possession of Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana, Failure to Identify, Resisting Arrest, and Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon.
