BUILDING PERMITS UP FOR JULY
Remodeling made up a large portion of July’s building permits for the City of Brenham.
The largest permit for the month was issued to MHMR Authority of the Brazos Valley, for interior remodeling for office space and the addition of a parking lot and sidewalks. The work is being contracted out to JDB Contracting, LLC, for $550,000.
Another notable permit was issued to the Brenham Heritage Museum, contracted to Bullock Construction for $145,000. The permit was issued for remodeling of the existing building at 310 East Main Street.
The second largest permit in July was for a new residence on Oak Hollow Lane, issued to Thielemann Construction for $388,930.
A total of 21 permits were issued in July, worth $1,898,645. Last July, 16 permits were issued for $1,153,295.
Five new residences were issued in July for $807,870, including the residence on Oak Hollow Lane. So far this year, 37 new residences have been permitted, for $5,345,056.
Through the year so far, 169 permits have been issued by the city for $33,009,172. Last year at this point saw 162 permits worth $26,139,041.
