BURN BAN IN EFFECT IN AUSTIN CO.
The list of counties statewide with burn bans continues to grow.
Austin County is the latest area-county to enact a burn ban, approving the ban Monday in commissioners court. It joins 132 other counties across the state with active burn bans.
A burn ban prohibits outdoor burning until the ban is lifted.
Washington County is now the only county in the immediate area with no burn ban.
