DR. WALTER JACKSON IN THE RUNNING FOR STATE SUPERINTENDENT OF THE YEAR
A state committee is meeting this weekend to determine the five finalists for the Superintendent of the year award, and Brenham ISD Superintendent Dr. Walter Jackson could be one of those finalists.
(Brenham ISD)
Jackson was named earlier this year by a regional selection committee as the Region VI Superintendent of the Year, after being nominated by the Brenham school board.
The TASB state committee is meeting today (Friday) and tomorrow (Saturday) in Austin to interview all regional winners and select five state finalists. Those finalists will then be interviewed before the naming of the Superintendent of the Year.
The announcement will be made at the Texas Association of School Administrators/TASB convention on September 21st in Dallas.
Local nominees are submitted to a regional committee, which then chooses a nominee for the state committee.
Candidates are chosen for their strong leadership skills, dedication to improving education quality, ability to build effective employee relations, student performance, and commitment to public involvement in education.
Good Luck Dr. Walter Jackson
Brenham Elementary just got a D rating from the TEA and other schools earned a C, as a taxpayer, I am tired of the resume padding and would really like to see our very highly paid central office staff focus on improving our schools and spend less time on trying to get awards that they will then use to move on to bigger and better jobs leaving us with a mess to clean up.
Awesome!
