Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative invites the community out tomorrow (Saturday) to its fourth annual Bluebonnet Solar Day in Brenham.

The free event will take place at 9 and 11 a.m. at Bluebonnet’s Brenham Service Center and Eco Home, at 2601 Longwood Drive.

Throughout the event, attendees will learn how solar energy works and how to connect to Bluebonnet’s grid. They will also be able to tour Bluebonnet’s Eco Home and visit with homeowners who have solar panels.

Free breakfast tacos, coffee and juice will be served. Guests will also have the chance to win one of three $50 solar-charged power banks, which can charge a smartphone or tablet at the same rate as a wall charger.

The event is being held in conjunction with Texas Solar Energy Society and Solar Austin, and is part of the American Solar Energy Society’s National Solar Tour.
