A Brenham High School senior was recently named to a select group for a state journalism association.

Azuzena Mondragon-Jaimes was selected as one of 20 student advisory panel members for the Texas Association of Journalism Educators (TAJE).

Mondragon-Jaimes was chosen for the position after applications were received from high school students across the state.  Panelists were required to submit an application, teacher recommendation, and a short video about themselves.

TAJE President-Elect Samantha Berry said upon welcoming Mondragon-Jaimes to the inaugural advisory panel that the organization is excited to see what she can accomplish for students.

Mondragon-Jaimes is a letterman for her work in Yearbook, and currently serves as the Brenhamite Yearbook’s Assistant Editor-in-Chief.  She is also a member of DECA at Brenham High School.

Mondragon-Jaimes will begin her year-long duties at TAJE’s state convention October 19-21 in San Antonio.
