POTENTIAL DROWNING AT LAKE SOMERVILLE UNDER INVESTIGATION

  

Authorities are currently investigating a possible drowning at Lake Somerville.

Game wardens received a call Tuesday evening around 6:45 p.m., concerning a man who fell off the back of a jet ski.  According to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD), the victim’s body was found at roughly 7:30 a.m. this (Thursday) morning.

The victim, according to TPWD, was a mid-20s Hispanic male from the Houston area.  The department said neither the victim nor the passenger on the jet ski were wearing the required personal floatation devices.

Search efforts included game wardens, DPS troopers, local agencies, and a TPWD K-9 Unit.

The body has been sent to Austin for autopsy.
