FIREFIGHTERS RESPOND TO TWO GRASS FIRES FRIDAY

  

Brenham firefighters were called out to a pair of grass fires Friday afternoon.

Just before 1:30 p.m., the Brenham Fire Department responded with the Meyersville Volunteer Fire Department to find a small grass fire at 850 New Years Creek Lane.  Brenham and Meyersville units extinguished the fire.

Then a little before 5:45 p.m., Brenham firefighters responded to an automatic mutual aid request from Chappell Hill, for a grass fire near a structure at 11726 Highway 290 West.

The Chappell Hill Fire Department arrived on location and cancelled Brenham units, once they found the fire was moving away from the structure.  Chappell Hill firefighters extinguished the fire, and units returned to service.
