WASHINGTON CO. COMMISSIONERS TO LOOK AT PERMITS, ROAD CLOSURES FOR SCARECROW FESTIVAL
Washington County Commissioners will consider a set of items to help Chappell Hill prepare for next weekend’s Scarecrow Festival.
Commissioners will act on mass gathering and right-of-way permits for the festival, set for October 12th and 13th in downtown Chappell Hill. They will also consider approving several street closures for the festival.
The Chappell Hill Historical Society is requesting that Cedar, Poplar, Providence, and Sycamore Streets be closed. If approved, the closures will begin 7 a.m. the morning of the 12th, and run through 6 p.m. on the 13th.
Also at Tuesday’s meeting, commissioners will consider:
- Allowing the County Engineer to purchase two new motor grader units through Sourcewell, a state approved cooperative purchasing vendor.
- A re-plat of tracts of land fronting Rolling Creek Road in Precinct Four.
- Proclaiming the month of October as Polish History Month in Washington County.
Commissioners will meet Tuesday morning at 9 a.m., at the Washington County Courthouse.
