LEXINGTON ISD STUDENT ARRESTED AFTER AUTHORITIES INVESTIGATE THREAT AT HIGH SCHOOL
A Lexington High School student is in custody, after school administrators investigated the second school threat in the district in just over a month.
In a statement Wednesday, Lexington ISD Superintendent Dr. Tonya Knowlton told parents a student had threatened to bring a weapon to the high school.
School officials and law enforcement worked to address the threat, and no weapon was found on the student who made the threat, or anywhere on campus.
Dr. Knowlton said the district is taking all necessary precautions to ensure the safety of all students at all times.
Back in mid-September, a threat was reported at the middle school, after a student mad a threat to bring a weapon on campus. Authorities did not find any weapon on the student or at the school, after investigation. That student was also taken into custody.
