EARLY VOTING CONTINUES FOR STATE CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENTS
Early voting numbers are in through three days at the Washington County Courthouse Annex, for the State Constitutional Amendment Election.
According to the office of County Clerk Beth Rothermel, 288 ballots were cast through Wednesday. Monday saw 80 early voters, Tuesday had 84 voters, and 124 early votes were cast on Wednesday.
Early voting continues today (Friday) at the courthouse annex through 5 p.m. Extended hours will be available on Monday and Tuesday, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., followed by regular hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. next Wednesday through Friday.
Voters wishing to get a ballot by mail need to have their applications in to the County Clerk’s office by today.
There are ten Constitutional Amendments on the ballot, including Proposition Four, which would prohibit a state individual income tax. Proposition Five would dedicate sporting goods sales tax revenue to Texas Parks and Wildlife and the Texas Historical Commission to fund the state park system. Proposition Three would allow temporary property tax exemptions after a disaster.
