BUSY FRIDAY, SATURDAY FOR BRENHAM FIRE DEPARTMENT

Firefighters were called out around 2 p.m. Friday afternoon to the 800 block of South Chappell Hill Street, for a transportation incident with fluids leaking. Units arrived and found a pick-up had hit a utility pole.
The City of Brenham Electric Department was on scene to cut the power off and replace the pole. Once the electricity was off, firefighters used absorbent to clean up a small spill.
Then this (Saturday) morning, around 5:45 a.m., the fire department responded to another transportation incident with fluids leaking, this one at Salem Road and Highway 36 South.
When they arrived, units found that a vehicle had hit a deer and was leaking radiator fluid. They then assisted in removing the animal from the roadway.
