“TREATS ON THE STREETS” WEDNESDAY IN NAVASOTA
Update @ 10:10 a.m.: Due to the threat of weather, "Treats on the Streets" will be held at the VFW Hall on 1575 West Washington Avenue. There will not be a costume contest.
Original Story @ 8:22 a.m.: Downtown Navasota will have Halloween fun for all Wednesday night.
“Treats on the Streets” is hosted annually by the Navasota Police Department as a safe alternative to trick-or-treating. Hundreds of children take part each year, collecting candy from booths set up in downtown.
This year’s event will run from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., with a costume contest at 7 p.m. Trophies will be presented to the first through third places.
Costume contest participants will be divided into four age groups:
0-3 years old;
4 years old to Kindergarten;
1st to 3rd graders;
4th and 5th graders.
There will be a “one way access” starting at Holland and LaSalle Streets. The route will end in the City Municipal Building parking lot.
KTEX-106’s Trail Boss Troy will be in downtown Navasota Wednesday night, broadcasting live from the friendly country cruiser.
