WASHINGTON CO. SOIL AND FORAGE TESTING CAMPAIGN UNDERWAY THROUGH NOVEMBER 30TH

The Brazos Valley Soil and Forage Testing Campaign is now underway in Washington County.

Agricultural producers have the opportunity to submit soil and forage samples for analysis, to determine their viability.  The campaign is limited to range, pasture, and crop soil samples.

Soil sample bags and submittal forms are available at three locations in Brenham, including: the Washington County Extension Service, at 1305 East Blue Bell Road; Cattlemen’s Supply Inc., at 1850 Highway 105; and at Brenham Produce, at 1103 South Market Street.

Cost per sample for a routine soil analysis is $8, while analysis with micronutrients is $15.  Forage analysis is $5 per sample.  Payment is due when the samples are submitted to the Extension Office.

The campaign is made possible through the support of the Washington County Beef and Forage Committee, in cooperation with the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Soil, Water, and Forage Testing Lab in College Station.

The testing campaign runs through November 30th.  Anyone with questions can visit http://washington.agrilife.org.
