EXPLOSION ROCKS PLANT IN EAST TEXAS

The skies of East Texas lit up by a massive fireball early this morning after a powerful explosion at a petrochemical refinery in Port Neches.

According to officials, at least three people were injured in the blast, which could be seen from miles away.

The early morning explosion at the TPC Group plant in Port Neches involved a processing unit, and three personnel on site sustained injuries and are being treated.  All staff at the plant have since been evacuated and accounted for.

Jefferson County Judge Jeff Branick says the plant is still on fire hours after the blast.

A mandatory evacuation is in effect for residents living within a half-mile radius of refinery.

Some homes several miles from the facility windows blown out and other damage.
