BRENHAM POLICE ARREST TWO PEOPLE TUESDAY

Two people were arrested by Brenham Police Tuesday in separate incidents.
Tuesday afternoon at approximately 3:00 pm, Brenham Police observed a wanted subject in the area of Blue Bell Road and Highway 105. Contact was made with the driver, Arturo Lara, 36, of Brenham who had two active warrants out of Washington County. Lara was placed in custody and transported to the jail.
On Tuesday morning at approximately 11:00 am, Sgt. Terrence Johnson initiated a traffic stop in the 1600 block of East Blue Bell Road. Contact was made with the driver, Markell Dervon Smith (34) of Cypress, and following a probable cause search of the vehicle, he was arrested for Possession of Marijuana less than 2oz. Smith was transported to the Washington County Jail for booking.
