GAS PRICES DOWN 1-CENT THIS WEEK
The price of a gallon of gas in Texas dropped slightly over the past week.
As travelers get ready to hit the road for the holidays, AAA Texas reports the statewide average for a gallon of regular unleaded is $2.23—one cent lower than last week. However, that price is 20 cents more per gallon compared to this day last year.
Locally, the average price of a gallon of gas is $2.19 per gallon—four cents lower than the state average. The price in Brenham ranged from a low of $1.97 to several locations with a price of $2.45 per gallon.
Of the major metropolitan areas surveyed in Texas, drivers in Odessa are paying the most on average at $2.45 while drivers in Tyler are paying the least at $2.14 per gallon.
The national average price for a gallon of regular unleaded is $2.55, which is two cents less when compared to this day last week and 18 cents more than the price per gallon at this same time last year.
