DAUGHTER OF MURDERED AUSTIN WOMAN RETURNED TO FATHER

  

A baby girl, who was kidnapped and her mother murdered, has been reunited with her father.

Margot Carey was discovered last week, with the body of her slain mother more than 100 miles from their Austin home.

Heidi Broussard and her infant daughter had last been seen Dec. 12 in Austin, after Broussard dropped off an older child at an elementary school.  Friday, Broussard was found strangled to death and her daughter was found safe at a home in the Houston area.

The infant was initially taken into the custody of Texas Child Protective Services, but her paternal grandfather says Margot has returned home.

An acquaintance of Heidi Broussard has been arrested on charges of kidnapping and tampering with a corpse.  Austin police have refused to disclose that person’s identity.

The suspect remained jailed on $600,000 bond.
