CORNYN CONTINUES PUSH FOR BUSH COIN
Federal officials have taken another step towards issuing a commemorative $1-dollar coin honoring George H.W. and Barbara Bush.
The U.S. Senate has reportedly passed a bill authored by Texas Senator John Cornyn.
Cornyn says it took a two-thirds majority to pass Senate Bill 457, which he says passed on a bi-partisan basis.
Cornyn says the Bushes were, “shining examples of what it looks like to put your country first.”
Similar legislation introduced by Texas congressman Roger Williams has been in a House committee since last February.
The coin would be designed once the bill is signed into law.
