THEFT & CHASE RESULT IN BRENHAM CRASH, TUESDAY

A brief chase following a theft at the Brenham WalMart resulted in a crash and an arrest by the Texas Department of Public Safety.

According to DPS Sargent Jimmy Morgan, the incident began with a theft call to the store on the Highway 290 feeder road, shortly after 4:00 p.m.

According to Morgan, the suspect fled the store’s parking lot in a stolen vehicle.  A pursuit ensued when the vehicle crashed into an overpass support at the intersection of the 290 East feeder road and South Chappell Hill St.

No troopers were injured in the pursuit, but the suspect—whose name has not been released—did sustain minor injuries in the crash.

The Brenham Fire Department was called on to clean up oil and radiator fluids that had leaked onto the street.
