DOWNTOWN BRENHAM PROPERTY OWNER, HORSEMAN TEDDY ABRAMS JR. DIES

  

An avid horseman and the owner of several historic properties in downtown Brenham has died.

Teddy Glenn Abrams, Jr. died Thursday in Houston, after a battle with cancer.  He was 50 years old.

Abrams, the Vice President of Abrams Technical Services of Houston, owned several historic downtown Brenham properties through Brown Cow Holdings, LLC.  Those included 217 West Main Street, the old Dr. Pepper Bottling building which has been renovated; 210 South Park Street, the old Corner Liquor Store building which is currently being renovated; and 111 South St. Charles Street, the vacant lot where the Dix Turnbow building burned down.

Abrams also greatly enjoyed horses.  Among the many racing quarter horses he was associated with was Vals Fortune, a two-time American Quarter Horse Association Racing Champion, winner of 20 of 23 career starts, and winner of more than $1.1 million.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.  Visitation with the family will be tomorrow (Sunday) from 5 to 7 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel.
