GRIMES CO. COMMISSIONERS SIGN OFF ON CONTRACT FOR JUSTICE CENTER

Grimes County Commissioners have approved a contract to begin building a new justice center.

Commissioners at a recent meeting unanimously agreed to sign a contract with Brenham-based Collier Construction, LLC to build a justice center adjacent to the Grimes County Law Enforcement Center on FM 149 West in Anderson.

The total contract price is $10,455,000.  Vanir Construction Management, Inc., who is acting on behalf of the county regarding certain design changes sought by department heads and elected officials, will review the plans and pricing for an additional roadway.  The county is currently in negotiations to secure the property for the roadway.

A groundbreaking ceremony for the justice center has been set for Tuesday morning at 10:30 a.m.
