WASHINGTON CO. TO NO LONGER PAY OUT BOUNTIES FOR COYOTE EARS

Starting tomorrow (Wednesday), Washington County will no longer pay out bounties for coyote ears.

According to County Judge John Durrenberger, commissioners did not allocate funding in the county’s 2020 budget to pay out bounties for coyote ears.  The county has paid out coyote bounties for over 20 years.

This change will remain in effect until further notice.

The Washington County Courthouse is closing early today (Tuesday) at 3 p.m.  If bounties and paperwork are turned in to the County Treasurer’s Office by 3 p.m., they will be paid.

  1. So glad they have stopped this practice. Hope they never do again. Poor animals have just as much right to live as you do.
