GAS PRICES UP–LOCALLY AND STATE-WIDE
Texas and nationwide retail gasoline prices have increased 7 cents per gallon this past week.
AAA Texas reports the average price at the pump statewide is now $2.29 per gallon. That is 36 cents more per gallon than this time last year.
Locally, the average price is $2.26 per gallon, with a low of $2.08 and a high of $2.46.
The association survey found El Paso has the most expensive gasoline in Texas this week at an average $2.56 per gallon. The Amarillo area has the state's cheapest gasoline at an average $2.20 per gallon.
Drivers across the country are paying an average $2.59 per gallon.
