AREA SUBMARINE VETERANS INVITED TO GATHER JANUARY 18TH IN BRYAN
Submarine veterans from the Brazos Valley are invited next weekend to meet and share their experiences in Bryan.
All local submarine qualified personnel of the U.S. Submarine force—whether active, retired, or discharged—are encouraged to attend January’s membership meeting of the United States Submarine Veterans Inc., Brazos Valley Base. The meeting is set for Saturday, January 18th at American Legion Post 159 in Bryan, at 101 Waco Street.
Since the founding of the U.S. Submarine force in 1900, over 4,000 lives and 65 submarines have been lost. The majority of those were lost during World War II, when 52 submarines were lost.
United States Submarine Veterans Inc. is a National Veterans Fraternal Organization, chartered in 1964 and recognized by the IRS as a 501c19 entity. With over 12,500 members and 171 chapters nationwide, it is the largest organization of U.S. submarine-qualified veterans in the world.
