WASHINGTON CO. COMMISSIONERS TO DISCUSS PERSONNEL MATTERS IN EXECUTIVE SESSION

Executive session discussion highlights the agenda for Washington County Commissioners when they meet Tuesday.

Following regular session, commissioners will recess into executive session to seek legal counsel regarding pending or contemplated litigation. Commissioners will also deliberate personnel matters regarding the medical director, pursuant to Texas Government Code Section 551-074(a).  Commissioners will then reconvene into regular session to take action on the matter.

According to this section of government code, commissioners will either discuss the “appointment, employment, evaluation, reassignment, duties, discipline, or dismissal of a public officer or employee”, or “hear a complaint or charge against an officer or employee”.

Washington County Judge John Durrenberger would not clarify if this agenda item concerns the medical director for Washington County EMS, the Washington County Jail, or the new multi-mission helicopter program.

Commissioners will then hold a public hearing on establishing a Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) program in Washington County. After the public hearing, the court will act upon a resolution to implement the program, in addition to a professional services agreement with the Texas PACE Authority.

The program allows property owners to lower operating costs and use savings for eligible water conservation, energy efficiency, resiliency, and distributed generation projects. Through the program, property owners are granted access to private, long-term financing options for commercial, industrial, and multi-family properties.

Also in session, commissioners will consider an equipment custody agreement between the county and Minnesota Resuscitation Solutions, LLC. According to Durrenberger, the county recently purchased a resuscitation kit from the Minnesota company, who is loaning the county another unit.  Durrenberger called these particular units “innovative” and “brand-new technology”.

Commissioners will also consider:

  • Approval of a general service agreement between the county and Housley Communications, Inc. for fiber connections to the Brazos Valley Council of Governments at the new Road and Bridge facility.
  • Formal notice for utility installation by PGMS-Chappell Hill Water Supply for a four-inch road bore at 8580 Mulberry Street in Chappell Hill, Precinct Two.
  • A proclamation proclaiming February 2020 as Teen Dating Violence Awareness and Prevention Month in Washington County.
  • Changing the date of the commissioners court meeting scheduled for Tuesday, February 11th to Monday, February 10th.

Commissioners will meet Tuesday morning at 9 a.m., at the Washington County Courthouse.
