SHERWOOD FOREST FAIRE OPENS THIS WEEKEND IN McDADE

  

This weekend, Medieval England will come to life in central Texas for the first time this spring.

The 11th Annual Sherwood Forest Faire, a medieval-style village in McDade, about 35 miles east of Austin, opens on Saturday.  The public is invited to join Robin Hood and Lady Marian as they host full contact jousting, falconry, swordplay, archery, juggling, comedy, and theater, along with numerous other activities.

The village has over 100 permanent buildings on 25 acres, including stages, pubs, merchant shops, wedding venues, and a complete castles.  Over 150 shows with more than 40 different stage acts are on display each day during the faire, along with over 170 artisans and merchants.

The village is open on weekends through April 19th from 10 a.m. to dusk, rain or shine.  It will also be open on Friday, March 20th for Spring Break.  No pets are allowed.
