BRENHAM BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT APPROVES SPECIAL EXCEPTION REQUEST
The Brenham Board of Adjustment met Monday night to approve a special exception request for a requested property setback variance.
The board unanimously approved an exception granting a five-foot reduction to the required 25-foot rear yard setback for property at 510 West Jefferson Street. The applicant, Dara Childs, was seeking the exception in order to develop the tract of land with a single-family residence.
According to Planning Technician Kim Hodde, city staff found that the subdivision was developed prior to zoning and the city’s current size requirements. The exception was granted since there are four other properties on the same block that do not meet the 25-foot rear year setback requirement.
