Mike Siegel, running against eight-term incumbent Michael McCaul, donated a $1,205 check to Bread Partners of Washington County to help support struggling families during the COVID-19 crisis.
A news release from Siegel’s campaign said they made the donation after learning about a New York Times report featuring Jordan Spahn, Summer Mossbarger, and their six children. The report detailed the family’s struggle to ensure its children are fed while having few working opportunities.
Siegel’s campaign said the family is one of many that have depended on local food banks, adding that this donation is one of many actions the campaign is taking to “support people all throughout the Texas 10th who are struggling during this crisis”.
Bread Partners of Washington County thanked Siegel for his donation and his interest shown in the organization, saying the donation will be used to continue to help local residents in need.
