FORMER AGGIE RB ARRESTED ON ASSAULT CHARGE

A former Texas A&M football player has been arrested and charged with assault.
College Station police have arrested 20-year old Vernon Jackson for allegedly assaulting a woman back in March.
According to online police records, Jackson went to the woman’s home on March 4th to look for his wallet. While he was there, police say he repeatedly choked her and also allegedly slammed her head against the floor. The woman reportedly had bruises on her arms and throat. Jackson claims the argument never got physical.
Jackson was a highly-touted recruit from Boling High School in 2018, choosing A&M over Alabama. However, his playing career ended when he suffered a neck injury a year ago. He had been serving as a student assistant.
