AUSTIN, TRAVIS CO. EXTEND “STAY HOME, WORK SAFE” ORDERS

City of Austin and Travis County leaders have extended previously issued stay home orders that were set to expire today (Friday).

Austin Mayor Steve Adler extended the city’s “Stay Home, Work Safe” order until May 30th, while Travis County Judge Sarah Eckhardt extended the county’s order until June 15th.

The orders do take Governor Greg Abbott’s recent executive orders allowing for the phased reopening of businesses into account.  They also continue to require citizens to wear face masks in public, but failure to do so does not carry any criminal or civil penalties.

Also included in the new orders are recommendations for dine-in restaurants to maintain an activity log of all customers and employees at the business.  According to the order, the absence of a log may require the city to publicly release the name of the business where people with confirmed infections have been.

  1. To be clear, I WAS referring to Travis County and Austin, not Washington County and Brenham..
    ..

  2. So the mayor and county judge will of course forfeit their own paychecks accordingly during this time also; for the common good.
