CITY OF BRENHAM’S ANNUAL SUMMER READING PROGRAM UNDERWAY
The City of Brenham and the Nancy Carol Roberts Memorial Library have begun their annual summer reading program.
This year’s program, themed “Imagine Your Story”, begins today (Monday) and runs through July 31st. Readers can now visit the library’s summer reading page online at https://cityofbrenham.org/library and follow the links to register through the online tracker – Wandoo Reader. They can also request a paper form to pick up from the library through curbside pickup, or download one from the library’s summer reading program webpage.
Once they register, readers can then begin logging their reading minutes and completing activities to earn prizes like food coupons or a summer t-shirt. Any reading counts, whether it be books, comic books, or magazines. The community goal for the library is 100,000 total minutes read this summer.
Bonus activities and challenges can be completed for extra points, which can be used for entries in weekly prize drawings. Bonus activities include scavenger hunts, StoryWalk, and take-home Tuesday kits. Every Tuesday, the library will distribute 100 @home kits from 4 to 6 p.m. for curbside pickup. It will also feature live videos every Tuesday morning on its Facebook page at 10 a.m., along with more opportunities to participate in bonus challenges.
Currently, the library is offering curbside pickup for library materials and one-hour appointments for computer use. Curbside checkout and pick-up days will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., while reservations for computers are available on Mondays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. To learn more, visit the library’s website, or call 979-337-7201.
