RESTAURANTS ALLOWED TO EXPAND TO 75 PERCENT CAPACITY FRIDAY
Starting today (Friday), restaurants in Texas will be allowed to further increase their capacity as the state continues to loosen COVID-19 restrictions.
Restaurants can now operate dine-in services at 75 percent of their listed occupancy inside the restaurant, up from the 50 percent made effective June 3rd. Outdoor dining is not subject to an occupancy limit.
Restaurants are told to keep tables seated with no more than ten people, and to space tables out by either six feet of distance or other means, such as dividers or barriers. They should also make hand sanitizing stations available upon entry to the restaurant, provide disposable menus, and only give out condiments upon request and in single-use portions. If a restaurant has a buffet, restaurant employees must serve the food to customers.
Next Friday, Governor Greg Abbott plans to allow counties with more than 1,000 confirmed positive COVID-19 cases to open up amusement parks and carnivals to 50 percent capacity.
