ANDREAS NAMED SHSU ALL-DECADE BASEBALL

 

Former Brenham Cub baseball star Chris Andreas has been named to the Huntsville Item's Sam Houston State All-Decade Team.

Andreas received first-team all-conference honors in 2010 and 2011, while also named to the 2011 Southland Conference all-tournament team.

In 2011, Andreas led the Bearkats in batting average (.332), home runs (12), doubles (18), RBIs (54), slugging percentage (.592) and on base percentage (.427).

His .345 career batting average ranks seventh-best since Sam Houston moved up to Division I in 1987.

Andreas was name All-Conference at Angelina Junior College prior to transferring to SHSU.

With the Cubs, he was a two-time All-State selection and a Louisville Slugger All-American as a senior.  He was also named TDX All-America under coach Jim Long.

Andreas is currently an assistant baseball coach at Cy Falls High School.
