TWO ARRESTED ON LOCAL WARRANTS
Two local men have been taken into police custody on outstanding warrants.
Thursday, members of Brenham’s Police Department Crime Reduction Unit and Navasota Police took 20-year old Kelvin James Levi Jr. into custody at a convenience store in Navasota.
Authorities say they had found Levi at a store at the intersection of State Highway 105 and FM 379.
Levi was wanted on active warrants for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity out of Washington County District Court. The charges are in connection with a shooting at a Brenham convenience store in November.
He was transported to the Washington County Jail.
Just after 2:00 Friday morning, police were dispatched to a disturbance in the 300 block of High Street.
At the scene, police located 20-year old Kelvin Dewayne Mathis who was wanted on a local warrant.
Mathis was taken to the Washington County Jail.
