According to the Burleson County Tribune, Christopher Coronado, a former Somerville High School softball coach, pleaded guilty this week to two counts and received seven years’ probation, was fined $2,000 and was ordered to perform 120 hours of community service restitution.

Coronado was indicted in February of last year, following his arrest in September of 2018 on the second-degree felony charge.

Coronado was charged with a relationship with an 18-year-old female high school student.  The case was reported to the Somerville Police Department, and investigated by the Texas Rangers.

DPS Sargent Jimmy Morgan says that while the student was an adult, Texas law forbids relationships between educators and students of any age
