HIGH-SPEED CHASE LEADS TO LOCAL ARREST

A high speed chase has led to the arrest of a deep south Texas man.

Jason Dean Lillie
(Washington Co. Jail)

Just after midnight, Washington County Sheriff’s deputies spotted a Chevy SUV going the wrong way on the Highway 290 feeder road near Highway 36 South.

According to Sheriff Otto Hanak, the driver fled as deputies tried to stop him.  He then led deputies and Brenham Police on a chase that led through several neighborhoods.

The driver, identified as 38-year old Jason Dean Lillie of Harlingen, reportedly stopped his vehicle on Brown Street and tried to flee on foot.  He was quickly arrested after a brief struggle with deputies and local police officers.

Lillie was transported to Baylor Scott and White Hospital after claiming he had ingested a variety of illegal drugs.  He was later released and transported to the Washington County Jail.

According to Hanak, Lillie was charged with Evading Arrest with Previous Convictions and other traffic-related charges.
