“BROOKLYN” NAMED PET OF THE WEEK

Brooklyn is a Heeler mix, about one to two years old.  Brenham Animal Services staff say she is spayed, and she loves to be around people and get lots of cuddles.  She is more on the mellow side, but will still play with toys when she gets a spurt of energy.

Staff say Brooklyn would make a great apartment dog, and would also match well with an elderly person seeking a porch-sitting companion.

Each Saturday in August, the Brenham Pet Adoption Center will waive adoption fees as a part of the annual “Clear the Shelters” adoption event.

Adopters are encouraged to visit Brenham Animal Services’ online Pet Finder page to choose a pet they are interested in before coming to the shelter.  They can also make an appointment by visiting the Brenham Animal Services Facebook page, or by calling 979-337-7351.  Appointments are being taken Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m.

Those looking to support the Brenham Pet Adoption Center can donate to the Clear the Shelters Fund by visiting GreaterGood.org.
