DEADLINE WEDNESDAY FOR BRENHAM ISD PARENTS TO SUBMIT COMMITMENT FORMS FOR NEW SCHOOL YEAR

Time is running out for Brenham ISD parents to submit their commitment forms dictating what form of instruction their students will receive when school begins August 25th.

Today (Wednesday) is the deadline to turn in commitment forms, with submissions closing tonight at 11:59 p.m.  The forms ask parents whether their child will attend school in-person or virtually, or if they wish to withdraw their child from the school district.  Parents are asked to fill out a survey for each student in their home.

Brenham ISD Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction Brandi Hendrix said it is very important for the school district to receive responses from parents, as they will shape the district’s approach to both face-to-face and remote instruction.

The form also contains questions about whether a student will need a hot spot or Google Chromebook, should they choose remote learning.

The choice parents make will lock the student into the chosen instructional method for one grading period, after which they can change their form of instruction by contacting campus administration.  Only students who wish to change their instructional method will need to fill out a commitment form again.  No answer to the form will automatically place the child in the face-to-face instructional model.

Hendrix said resources are available to help parents who may be on the fence with their decision.

Commitment forms have been emailed to all parents, and are available online at www.brenhamisd.net and in person at the Brenham ISD Central Office at 711 East Mansfield Street.  They can also be accessed through the link here.
