BLINN ADULT EDUCATION AND LITERACY OFFERING PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

Blinn College’s Adult Education and Literacy (AEL) Department is offering a new leadership development program.

Blinn is the first college in Texas to offer the “Stepping into Leadership” program.  According to AEL Program Director Anthony Garcia, the new initiative was adopted from an AEL program in Arizona, and Blinn is now looking to host the pilot program to share with other programs in the state.

The free eight-week program is available for students enrolled in Blinn’s AEL department.  “Stepping into Leadership” sessions are tentatively scheduled to begin September 14th.

Jay Anderson, Vice Chancellor of Blinn’s Health Sciences, Technical Education, and Community Programs, said this is a leadership and personal development opportunity that will “empower individuals to remain focused on educational aspirations”.

Information sessions on “Stepping into Leadership” will be held via Zoom on Wednesday, August 26th from noon to 1 p.m. and Thursday, August 27th from 1 to 2 p.m. and 6 to 7 p.m.

Reservations can be made by calling 979-209-7300 or contacting Garcia at anthony.garcia@blinn.edu.
