CALDWELL NOW TAKING APPLICATIONS FOR COMPREHENSIVE PLAN TASK FORCE

The City of Caldwell is now seeking participants for its Comprehensive Planning Campaign task force.

After launching its second video for its Comprehensive Planning Campaign, which is being developed alongside the Texas Target Communities (TxTC) program at Texas A&M University, the city began taking applications for the 8-12 person task force.  Sign-ups are available through August 28th, and those selected will be contacted by September 4th.

The task force will consist of community leaders and key stakeholders selected by TxTC, and will participate in meetings with the planning team and citizens to discuss ideas for Caldwell’s long-term growth.

Goals of the task force include establishing or affirming a community-wide vision for the future of the city; identifying community assets, strengths, and opportunities for expansion or growth; and validating goals and priorities for topics such as economic development, infrastructure, housing, and parks and recreation.

The first task force meeting will be held virtually on September 10th from 6 to 7:30 p.m., with future meetings being held as frequently as monthly.  Most meetings will be held virtually due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
