GIDDINGS ISD TO OPEN FOR CLASSES MONDAY

The Giddings ISD will open classes Monday.

Back in July, the districy had announced the start of the 2020-21 school year was being moved back nearly two weeks.

The Giddings ISD administration and the district’s Improvement Committee recommended to the school board that the opening day of classes be moved back from August 19th to this Monday.

Giddings will offer both in-class and remote instruction per TEA guidelines.

Remote learning for this new school year will be much different than the remote learning procedures that were in place for last year. Additionally, attendance will be monitored for remote learners through a new learning management system.

In order to avoid extending when the last day of school will occur, school days have been extended by 15 minutes. By doing so, the district will add 5 more days to the calendar in addition to the 3 emergency closure days that are already built in.
